Hull's UK City of Culture 2017 Trade Awareness Course

With Hull being UK City of Culture 2017, what better time to run a trade awareness course based in the Hull and Humber Region.  So to coin the phrase used by the City of Culture promoters, “Everyone back to ours” on Tuesday 16th & Wednesday 17th May 2017.

The course starts at the Port of Hull as there is such a varied array of cargo ships and goods being imported and exported and the Port has recently had an insurgent in trade.  There are numerous associated industries based around the Port and we planning on visiting some storage facilities for bulk liquids.  We also hope to visit an edible oils processing plant.  The last visit of the day will be to Vivergo Fuels, one of the UK and Europe’s largest producers of renewable bioethanol and animal feeds made.

During the evening, there will be opportunity to get to know fellow delegates whilst visiting the High Street, one of Hull’s oldest streets, many corn merchants used to have their offices here, including the Association which operated from a building called the Pacific.

The second day will start early with a visit over the Humber Bridge to the south bank to visit a dry bulk terminal which can usually load or unload a large vessels within a day.  Delegates will then return back to Hull to visit an oil seed rape crushing plant which extracts crude oil and rape meal. We anticipate the final visit will be to a milling plant for maize which produces ingredients used in both animal feed as well as for human consumption.

The two day course will run on Tuesday 16th & Wednesday 17th May 2017, the cost is £250 per person (£300 for non HCFTA members) and includes overnight accommodation, lunches, evening meal, light refreshments and mini bus transportation for the duration of the course.

If you would like to book a place on the course, please email info@hcfta.co.uk to reserve your place(s), alternatively complete the booking form which can be found on the website www.hcfta.co.uk.  An invoice will confirm your place and we do ask that payment is made PRIOR to the course commencing.

A detailed itinerary for the two days is available upon request.  Please note, all delegates will be issued with a full and detailed itinerary nearer the date.
